Earlier this year, CottonInfo hosted an irrigation technology tour taking leading irrigation researchers and technologies out onto farms across three valleys. Those who attended showed great interest in some key tools, like IrriSAT, so we're now bringing you a series of events to look at this technologies in more detail.
IrriSAT is a weather-based technology that uses remote sensing to provide site-specific crop water management information.
Dr John Hornbuckle of Deakin University (along with NSW DPI and CottonInfo) will deliver IrriSAT workshops across three cotton regions, introducing growers consultants and researchers to IrriSAT, examining the theory behind the technology and crop evapotranspiration (ET), and working through practical applications.
The workshops will take place at Griffith (16 July), Emerald (28 July), Narromine (26 August) and Moree (27 August).
