Farm Biosecurity Plan workshop

CottonInfo and the Grains Farm Biosecurity Program are jointly running a Farm Biosecurity Plan workshop on Wednesday 19 October from 9.30am – 12.30pm in Dalby (Cotton Seed Distributors office, Cnr of Napier and Edward Street).

The workshops are designed for cotton and grain growers interested in improving their on-farm biosecurity and who want to take proactive steps for preventing the establishment and spread of pests, weeds and diseases.

Additionally, the workshop aims to help myBMP certified cotton growers or those looking to gain certification develop a biosecurity management plan which is required to complete the myBMP biosecurity module.

In the 3-hour workshop, we will be discussing:

  • How to identify and assess farm biosecurity risks
  • Practically managing your biosecurity risks
  • Farm biosecurity management plans
  • Cotton industry’s myBMP biosecurity module

These small-group workshops are designed to be interactive and discussion orientated. Growers will leave the workshop with a documented farm biosecurity management plan that is tailored to their farm and specific circumstances, an understanding of practices that can be implemented to manage biosecurity risks on their farm and how to address coming changes to the myBMP biosecurity module.

Spaces are limited, to RSVP please contact CottonInfo Regional Extension Officer, Annabel Twine 0447176007 or annabel.twine@cottoninfo.net.au.
